Barbara van Munster is a geriatrician and director of the Alzheimer Centre Groningen, specialising in research into the complex interplay between chronic diseases, cognitive impairment and delirium. She has contributed to several studies focused on improving outcomes for patients with multimorbidity through integrated, coordinated care and has been a leader in several national multimorbidity guidelines. Barbara is committed to bridging the gap between research and practical healthcare solutions. As such, she is co-leading the development of value-based care in the Santeon consortium. Her work has a clear focus on improving the quality of care for vulnerable patient populations, with the aim of making healthcare both more efficient and more compassionate.
