Jurgen Claassen

Jurgen Claassen is associate professor in cerebrovascular physiology in ageing and dementia. He is a board member of the Dutch Geriatrics Society and co-editor for the Journal of Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism. In his research he applies physiological research to investigate how ageing and disease affect the regulatory mechanisms for blood pressure and cerebral blood flow; how treatment of hypertension affects postural blood pressure control and cerebral perfusion; and how disorders of cerebral hemodynamics contribute to dementia. He serves on several grant review boards and scientific advisory boards, and has been involved in the organisation of several international conferences, including as chair of the scientific committee for the EUGMS 2014 conference.
