Silke Metzelthin

Dr. Silke Metzelthin is associate professor at the Department of Health Services Research, Maastricht University, and vice-chair of the CAPHRI research line Ageing and Long-term Care. Her work focuses on developing innovative, interdisciplinary interventions for frail older adults, with an emphasis on care concepts such as reablement and function-focused care. She coordinates the ReableDEM research group and is an active member of the international ReAble network. In addition, she serves on the board of the Dutch Association of Gerontology and the editorial board of BMC Geriatrics. She is also scientific advisor to the Living Lab in Ageing and Long-term Care, which is a sustainable and successful formal collaboration between research, teaching and care organizations providing long-term care.
